Harder Parts

Spring is wonderful time of new life and hope and green. It can also come with losses, difficulties, and mud!
As much as we would like for every animal born on our farm to survive, there are losses, definitely one of the hard parts.  For those that survive there are necessary procedures to insure their health and safety (in our case we do very minimal procedures, but castration for the piglets is one of those procedures) and that can be another hard part of farming.  Then because we are a small family farm we can only keep so many to finish here on our farm, so we need to sell the others to others who we hope will care for them as humanely as possible.  Again while we know that it is best for all the animals involved, it is still another hard part.
Yes, in farming there are some wonderful parts and some harder parts!
